Images of Yellowstone - Fine Photography

Indigo Spring is located in the Midway Geyser Basin near Grand Prismatic spring. At the boardwalk's edge, the water has cooled to the point that it begins to freeze. This image captures an area where the water has frozen to a greater extent (the area with the ice crystals) than the area where there is only a thin semi-transparent surface ice. I love all of the textures in this image along with the muted colors of the bottom visible through the surface ice. Image size is 11" x 16.3" on a 16" x 20" mat and backer.
